Pontefract | Full Time | Office Based

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with an engineering and automation solutions provider to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Pontefract.

This business delivers bespoke engineered systems and complex projects for industrial customers across a wide range of sectors. Their work spans the full project lifecycle,  from concept development and design through to build, installation and commissioning, with a strong focus on practical, high-quality engineering solutions.

You will be responsible for designing electrical control systems and supporting the delivery of automation projects, working closely with internal teams, customers and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.

• Electrical design of control panels, automation systems and associated instrumentation

• PLC I/O design, specification and documentation

• Producing electrical schematics and drawings using AutoCAD

• Supporting projects from initial concept design through to detailed and finalised design packages

• Ensuring designs meet relevant engineering and machinery safety standards

• Supporting project delivery, including planning, coordination and technical input throughout the lifecycle

• Assisting with commissioning and technical troubleshooting where required

• HNC or HND qualification in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or a related discipline

• Significant experience in electrical design within an industrial engineering environment

• Exposure to supporting or managing aspects of engineering projects

• Experience working with PLC controls, instrumentation and automation systems

• Strong experience producing electrical drawings using AutoCAD

• Understanding of machinery safety standards, machinery directive, safety relays and SIL classification

• Experience working on specialist machinery, automation systems or engineered equipment
