This forward-thinking school are seeking a Nurture Teacher to inspire and educate Year 7 and 8 students. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver tailored educational activities designed specifically for Year 7 and 8 students within a nurture group setting.
  • Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that supports individual learning needs.
  • Implement strategies from the school's Ofsted-praised framework to promote positive behaviour and enhance student engagement.
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff and multidisciplinary teams to plan and coordinate effective interventions.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and strategies to support learning at home.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience in a nurture or SEN setting, particularly with Year 7 and 8 students and other years. 
  • Students are diagnosed with SEMH and/or ASC, so relevant experience is desired, but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by SEN students and effective strategies to address these.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
