Salary: £16.58 to £18.70 Hourly

Job Summary:

  • To support the payments relating to the provision of accommodation for looked after children, Youth Offending Service, Leaving Care, Supported Lodgings and training flats worth over £3M per month.
  • To ensure the accuracy and consistency of records relating to the payments made and support the production of ongoing financial projections.
  • Assist in resolving invoice queries to avoid overpayment and recover funds when appropriate.
  • To support the wider payments and finance team as required.
  • To act as a contact point for external providers and social workers in relation to payments

Personnel Specification:

  • 2 years working in a busy office environment
  • NVQ level 2 in business administration or equivalent
  • Use of IT systems and office software
  • A understanding of payment processes include records management, maintaining an audit trail, reconciliation
  • Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of different accommodation types for looked after children
  • Understand the practical implications of contracts i.e. applicability of notice periods
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent attention to detail and accurate work
  • Proven ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work under pressure using own initiative or as part of a team
  • Capable of working with all types of people
  • Experience of prioritising and organising own workload
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to devise admin systems and process
  • Ability to interpret instructions
  • Ability to interpret statistical information
  • Ability to respond flexibly to customer and business needs
