About the Role

As a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll lead the mechanical design process on high-profile commercial projects, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions that meet client expectations and industry standards. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and have the opportunity to work across all RIBA stages.

Key Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design on workplace fit-out projects

Deliver sustainable and technically sound solutions

Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets

Represent my client in client meetings and presentations

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development

Ensure all work aligns with company procedures and quality standards

Actively participate in training and industry events to stay ahead

What We're Looking For

Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering (BEng, BSc, or MEng)

Chartered or working towards chartership (CIBSE, IMechE, IET)

Proven experience as a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer in building services

Strong fit-out experience (workplace preferred, retail acceptable)

Proficiency in Hevacomp or IES software

Excellent communication and leadership skills
