Procurement Apprenticeship

Cantello Tayler Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Procurement Apprentice to join our client based in Putney.

In the role of Procurement Apprentice, the selected candidate will play a pivotal role in the company's procurement operations by providing essential support to the team and understanding of the role within a large multinational. Tasks will include researching suppliers, preparing documentation for tenders, maintaining procurement records, and building strong relationships throughout the business.

This position offers the opportunity to receive hands-on training and mentorship from seasoned professionals, providing invaluable insight into procurement processes and best practices. The role is crafted not only to aid the team in their day-today activities but also to establish a strong foundation for growth and development in the procurement field with exposure to a global working environment.

The successful Procurement Apprentice will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the procurement team, to assist in the purchase of goods and services for the UK and Northern Europe in accordance with market requirements. This includes negotiating commercial conditions to achieve the optimal balance of quality, cost, and service. The Apprentice will ensure the utilisation of all effective tools for a thorough procurement process, ensuring accuracy while also maintaining proper documentation and supplier setup.
  • The Procurement Apprentice will support in monitoring the commercial benefits and status of procurement projects. This includes tasks such as spend and trend analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and forecasting and actual savings profiles. The information gathered may be used to aid procurement decisions, contribute to supplier reviews, or assist in the development of reports for other stakeholders, such as the Category Manager or Procurement Lead.
  • Monitor compliance with corporate procurement policies, code of conduct, operating guidelines, local regulations, and visibility for corporate audit.
  • Playing a key role in the procurement process, the candidate will actively contribute to sourcing new suppliers. This involves conducting comprehensive market research to identify potential suppliers for ongoing tenders on behalf of the wider team. The candidate will assist in market analysis, evaluating the supply base to determine the best-fit suppliers for the company's needs. This includes examining factors such as supplier reliability, quality of products or services offered, pricing structures, and overall market trends to make informed recommendations to the procurement team.
  • Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance procurement knowledge and skills.

The Procurement Apprentice will have:

  • Process understanding
  • GCSE Maths and English - C and above
  • Written and Verbal English Fluency

The successful candidate will achieve a Level 3 Business Administration qualification and Level 3 Procurement qualification.

The role will be working 2 days a week in the office, 2 days a week from 1 home and 1 day College study.
