Rise10 Recruitment is partnering with a leading logistics company that is seeking a highly skilled Depot Manager. This pivotal role offers the chance to lead a dynamic team, ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of the depot.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing drivers and sorting staff, ensuring route performance, handling operational issues and maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day depot operations, ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed on time.
- Manage and support a team of delivery drivers, supervisors, and admin staff.
- Plan, allocate, and monitor routes to maintain performance KPIs.
- Ensure scanning compliance, parcel handling accuracy, and correct loading/unloading procedures.
- Lead morning briefings and end-of-day debriefs with drivers.
- Resolve operational issues quickly, including route failures, customer escalations, and vehicle problems.
- Monitor performance, attendance, behaviour, and adherence to standards.
- Manage relationships with depot partners (e.g. UPS).
- Ensure health & safety compliance across all site activities.
- Maintain depot reports, logs, and performance records.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training for new drivers.
- Handle disciplinary issues professionally and in line with company policy.
- Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and manage maintenance reports.
- Drive continuous improvement within the depot.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience in logistics, parcel delivery, transport or depot management is essential.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good IT and reporting skills (Excel, scanners, route systems).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Knowledge of multi-drop delivery operations is highly beneficial.
- Ability to adapt quickly and manage last-minute operational changes.
- Must be 25+ for insurance purposes.
- Full UK driving licence (minimum 2 years).
- Able to work Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm.
- Flexible approach to working hours to support operational needs.
- Able to drive a van if routes need cover or backup.
- Ability to adjust to any situation that arises that requires help.
