Are you an SEN teacher looking to make an immediate impact? Long Term Futures is working with a supportive and inclusive SEN school in Birmingham that caters to students aged 11-19 with a wide range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), social and emotional challenges, and associated learning differences.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated teacher to step into a role straight away, with the view to secure a permanent position. The school is proud of its caring ethos, structured environment, and strong focus on preparing young people for independence and future opportunities.

The RoleAs an SEN Class Teacher, you'll take responsibility for a small class group with additional adult support. Lessons are highly personalised to meet EHCP outcomes, with a focus on communication, social development, and functional skills. You'll play a key role in helping students grow in confidence, independence, and emotional regulation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet a range of learning needs

  • Foster a calm, consistent, and supportive classroom environment

  • Support students with autism, SEMH, and complex needs through structured approaches

  • Collaborate with therapists, pastoral staff, and families to adapt and review learning plans

  • Use positive behaviour management strategies to maintain engagement and progress

  • Track, assess, and report on pupil progress in line with school and EHCP requirements

What We're Looking For

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) - essential

  • SEN or inclusive teaching experience in secondary or post-16 is desirable

  • Strong understanding of neurodiversity and curriculum adaptation

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A proactive, compassionate, and resilient approach to supporting young people
