The Opportunity

Ocho are partnered with a growing SaaS company expanding their engineering team with a Backend Java Engineer.

This role offers the chance to work on a live, evolving product, where your work will directly influence new features, system improvements, and overall platform performance.

You'll be joining a small, collaborative team with strong technical input and visibility across the business.

The Role

• Design and build backend services using Java (Spring Boot)
• Develop and improve APIs supporting a scalable platform
• Take ownership of features from idea through to deployment
• Work closely with engineering and DevOps to improve systems
• Contribute to performance, reliability, and architecture decisions

Tech Environment

Java (Spring Boot), AWS, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines
Exposure to: Docker, modern frontend frameworks

What You'll Bring

• 3-5+ years commercial software engineering experience
• Strong backend development with Java
• Experience designing or working with APIs
• Exposure to cloud-based systems (AWS beneficial)
• Comfortable working in a product-focused environment
