Maintenance Operative / Handy Person Vacancy 

Contract: Initially Temporary then permanent after 2-4 weeksHours: 37.5 hours Location: Canning Town, London

My client, a charity located in Canning Town that provides sheltered accommodation for the homeless, is seeking an all-round Handy person / Maintenance operative to repair and maintain the residents' rooms and common areas of the buildings.The postholder would be required to support daily, weekly & monthly planned maintenance tasks as scheduled (fire alarm tests, water temperature recording, emergency lighting tests, etc.).Duties will also include some basic plumbing, electrical (fitting plugs and sockets, hanging lights etc, to putting up shelves and resealing bathroom sinks, windows etc as well has General janitorial duties as requested and Ad-hoc porterage duties (moves and changes, furniture management etc.

• Minor building fabric spot cleaning, repairs, decorating tasks and plumbing repairs.
• Ability to manage own workload effectively and under pressure
• Use a range of common hand and power tools to carry out your job as required
• at all times be patient and tolerant self-motivated and enthusiastic

Working 08.30 - 16.30 Mon - FriPay £18.00 per hour (umbrella payment) or £15.50 PAYEThis position is vacant and will lead to a permanent job after approx. 2-4 weeks paying a salary of between 28 - 29k + great benefits
