Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Psychology Graduates to work within Secondary schools in Newport and the surrounding areas.
- Full time and Part Time roles available
- £300 - £350 weekly pay (with no umbrella fees!)

- Roles until the end of the academic year - with the opportunity to join the schools on a direct contract pending a review in July 2021.

What does a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant do?
The roles generally involve working 1:1 with individuals who need support within and outside of the classroom in order to boost attainment. As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant you will also have exposure to supporting ALN (Additional Learning Needs) pupils with needs such as autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.
You will provide support to pre-planned small groups and 1-1 sessions, promote positive pupil behaviour and development, and assist the class teacher with the day to day running of the classroom. Your role will be to ensure that the pupils you support are able to access the curriculum and help overcome barriers to learning.
As a Psychology graduate, you will have an advantageous understanding of Additional Learning Needs (ALN) such as autism and ADHD. Your knowledge will help contribute to the effective formation of interventions to enable pupils to reach their full potential.
About the Schools:
You will be joining a Secondary school in the Newport area. As a Teaching Assistant the majority of your role will be spent within the schools Additional Learning Needs base where you will be fully supported by the ALNCo and other Teaching Assistants. You will also support students in class during their lessons with their class teacher.
