Job Title: Sub Agent - Earthworks
Location: Major Infrastructure Project, Just Outside Manchester

Rate: £450 - £500 per day (Inside IR35)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Sub Agent to support delivery on a major infrastructure project just outside Manchester. This is a critical short-term role with the potential for extension, ideal for someone with a strong background in earthworks and subcontractor management.
The successful candidate will work alongside the site team to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant delivery of heavy earthworks operations, with a preference for candidates who also bring de-watering experience.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Site Agent and wider team in delivering earthworks to programme, budget, and quality requirements.

Manage and coordinate subcontractors and direct labour on site.

Ensure daily HSEQ compliance across all work activities.

Maintain accurate site records, reporting, and inspections.

Work closely with engineering and planning teams to sequence and execute works effectively.

Review and implement method statements, risk assessments, and permits to work.

Monitor and report progress against key deliverables.

(Desirable) Lead or support de-watering operations where required.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Sub Agent or Section Engineer on major civils or infrastructure projects.

Strong technical knowledge of earthworks operations including cut/fill, bulk excavation, and compaction.

Proven track record managing subcontractors and site teams.

SMSTS, CSCS, and relevant H&S qualifications required.

Excellent organisational and communication skills.

(Preferable) Experience with de-watering systems and their management.

Full UK driving licence.
