Role Overview - First Line Engineer

Location - Hemel Hempstead Fully Onsite

Salary - £35,000

Our client are looking for a proactive and hands-on First Line Engineer to take ownership of device provisioning and user lifecycle processes in a fast-paced, fully onsite environment.

This role supports a client base made up largely of contract staff, requiring efficient onboarding and offboarding of users alongside consistent hardware deployment. You'll be responsible for building and configuring around 15 devices per week, ensuring all machines are set up to a high standard and delivered on time.

This includes working with tools like Autopilot, introducing automation, and redesigning workflows to increase efficiency and scalability.

They're looking for someone with MSP experience who can "grab the horns" and take full ownership - from initial build through to delivery - while identifying opportunities to enhance the overall build and deployment function.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end device builds and configuration (approx. 15 per week)
• Onboarding and offboarding users, including account and hardware setup
• Managing hardware inventory and device readiness
• Supporting a contract-heavy user base with quick turnaround times
• Using and improving Autopilot and deployment tools
• Introducing automation and improving build processes
• Taking ownership of the full lifecycle: build deploy support
