The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting Class 1 (C&E Drivers) on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in Barnsley.

Hours: Choose your own days of work and start times by providing a 2 hour window from 10AM through to 11PM, please note you must be able to work every Friday OR Sunday.

Pay Rates:

* (PAYE): Monday to Thursday £16.87, Friday £17.60, Saturday £18.29 & Sunday £18.61

* (ROLLEDUP): Monday to Thursday £18.91, Friday £19.72, Saturday £20.50, Sunday £20.86

* (NIGHTS): Monday to Thursday £17.59, Friday £18.10, Saturday £20.69 & Sunday £21.96 PAYE

* (NIGHTS ROLLEDUP): Monday to Thursday £19.71, Friday £20.28, Saturday £23.19, Sunday £24.61

Location: Barnsley, S74.

Job Type: Ongoing.

The role:

* Trunking between depots, ensuring timely and safe delivery of parcels.

* Reversing in the yard and manoeuvring vehicles with precision.

* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.

* Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.

* Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:

* Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).

* Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.

* New passes welcome!

* No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).

* Successful completion of assessment, including theory element which is two questionnaires based on drivers' hours and road laws and a practical element which will be based on yard reversing and a short driving test.

* Full understanding of WTD legislation.

* Excellent communication skills.
