Connect Appointments have a new opportunity in the Beaminster area, for an experienced Residential Conveyancing Legal Secretary, to join our legal clients growing team.

What's on offer?

A full-time permanent opportunity
Working 37.5 hours per week
Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5.30pm & Friday 9am to 5pm
A salary of £25,000 to £27,000 per annumWorking as a Legal Secretary, your duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

Being the first point of contact for customers contacting the law office
Prepare and amend documents, contracts (including Sale and Purchase Agreements, Transfer Deeds, Completion Statements), Land Registry forms and correspondence by audio and copy typing using digital dictation
Dictating audio files and written notes
Managing records, projects and calendars, ensuring everything flows smoothly
Transcribing and proofreading legal documents
Indexing and updating pleadings
Collecting and delivering documents
Managing diaries and making travel arrangementsTo be successful in this role, you will ideally have previous administration experience, with practice in audio transcriptions - but previous experience in the legal sector would be an advantage.

Other key skills and traits that you will ideally have, includes:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, solicitors, estate agents, mortgage lenders and other third parties
Strong attention to detail, particularly when preparing and proof-reading legal documents and correspondence
A thorough understanding of the conveyancing process, with previous experience in residential property transactions is preferable
A responsible and discreet approach to handling sensitive client information
A commitment to punctuality, reliability, and maintaining high standards of file management and record keeping
Familiarity with legal terminology and documentation
Proficiency in word processing software including MS Office
Ability to work with a team of Lawyers and others in the organisation
