Senior Import Operator:
Our client a very well-established International Freight Forwarder is seeking an experienced senior candidate to handle the Ocean Import Operations
Their operational responsibility will cover all aspects of the shipment from start to finish including.
Roles and key responsibilities:
Managing Import Operations:
Overseeing the entire import process, including booking shipments, managing documentation, coordinating with carriers and customs brokers, and arranging delivery.
The candidate will be responsible for working seamlessly with customers,
colleagues and overseas offices along with internal commercial teams to oversee the end-to- end movement of orders.
Customer Relationship Management:
Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their inquiries, and ensuring their needs are met throughout the import process.
Ensuring Compliance:
Adhering to all relevant customs regulations and international trade laws.
Problem Solving:
Addressing any issues or delays that may arise during the import process and finding solutions to ensure timely delivery.
Operational Efficiency:
Streamlining processes and implementing best practices to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
Data Management:
Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to import shipments.
Collaboration:
Working closely with various stakeholders, including carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams.
Mentorship:
In some cases, senior operators may also be responsible for mentoring and training junior team members.
Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in ocean imports operations:
Candidates should have a strong understanding of the import process and experience managing deep-sea import shipments.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and documentation:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills:
The ability to communicate effectively with clients, carriers, and internal teams is crucial.
