We are now looking for a Trainee Prosthetic Technician to join our Central Fabrication unit, based in Atlas Way, Sheffield!
Trainee Prosthetic Technician Duties:
As a Trainee Prosthetic Technician, you'll learn to manufacture, repair and adjust a wide range of prosthetic products, each one specifically designed to meet the individual patient's needs. Joining us as a trainee means you will work closely with your designated mentor who'll train and guide you in the core skills and work areas, and you will work towards completion of relevant training portfolios to demonstrate your abilities.
Trainee Prosthetic Technician Requirements:
- You'll be a practical, methodical individual, who thrives in a 'hands on' role
- Has good problem solving skills
- Pays excellent attention to detail
- You'll need to be focused and flexible in your approach
- Be able to operate to tight timescales
- You will be a reliable team worker with excellent communication skills
- be able to be trusted to complete tasks accurately and to deadline
Using these skills, you'll interpret information supplied by clinicians to undertake repairs and adjustments to patients' prostheses using a wide range of materials and tools. The specialised nature of the role means that specific experience in prosthetic manufacturing is not essential, and full training will be provided. We are ideally looking for someone who is enthusiastic about developing a career with us in this hands-on role.

The nature of the role is varied so successful candidates will maintain high standards when working to varying deadlines and when working under pressure. This is a permanent position and as standard the core working hours are 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
