Head of Finance to provide expert leadership across their technical finance functions and to play a key role in maintaining strong financial governance and resilience.This is a high-profile senior appointment, offering the opportunity to influence strategic decision-making and lead critical financial activities during a period of organisational evolution, including preparation for wider structural change across the region.Working closely with senior stakeholders, the Head of Finance will lead a well-established technical finance function and act as a principal financial advisor to senior leaders and decision-making bodies.The role carries responsibility for ensuring robust statutory compliance, effective risk management, and the integrity of financial reporting, while also driving continuous improvement and innovation.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic leadership across statutory accounting, treasury management, taxation, and financial compliance.
- Acting as a trusted financial advisor to senior leadership teams, committees, and governance bodies.
- Leading the financial closedown process, production of the Statement of Accounts, and managing relationships with External Audit.
- Line management of the Finance Manager and overall leadership of the Technical, Treasury, Insurance, Income, and Payments team.
- Identifying opportunities to strengthen controls, improve compliance, and mitigate financial risk.
- Ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant legislation, professional standards, and best practice.
Candidate ProfileOur client is seeking a senior finance professional with both strong technical capability and proven leadership experience.The ideal candidate will bring:
- A recognised professional accounting qualification (CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- A strong track record of delivering high-quality technical finance services within a complex organisation.
- Sound understanding of statutory accounting, audit, treasury management, and risk.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with experience developing and leading high-performing teams.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex financial matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive, collaborative, and resilient approach, with the agility to operate effectively in a changing environment.
