Reed Accountancy are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Construction business based in Preston. Known for their strong reputation, continued growth and supportive culture, they are now seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their busy Finance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing a high-volume ledger, building strong customer relationships and maintaining healthy cashflow for the business.
Your role as Credit Controller
- Manage a high-volume sales ledger and chase overdue invoices via phone, email and letter
- Allocate payments accurately and resolve aged debt
- Set and review customer credit limits in line with company policy
- Monitor account risk and escalate concerns when necessary
- Negotiate payment plans where appropriate
- Handle applications for payment, valuations, certified amounts and retentions
- Produce aged debt reports and commentary
Person Specification
- Previous credit control experience
- Ability to manage a fast-paced, high-volume ledger
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation
- Confident using accounting systems (e.g. Sage, NetSuite) and Excel
