About the Role

Applebough Education are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified Teacher (QTS) to join their Key Stage 1 team. Key Responsibilities

Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that meet the needs of pupils within Key Stage 1, in line with the National Curriculum.

*

Create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that promotes pupil progress and achievement.

*

Differentiate teaching to ensure all pupils, including those with additional needs, are fully supported and challenged.

*

Use a range of assessment strategies to track progress, provide feedback, and inform next steps in learning.

*

Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

*

Contribute to the wider school community, including participation in staff meetings, training, and extracurricular activities.

*

Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.

Person Specification

Essential:

*

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

*

Proven experience or training within Key Stage 1.

*

Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.

*

Ability to plan creatively and deliver engaging, child-centred lessons.

*

Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

*

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable:

*

Experience working in diverse classroom settings.

*

Familiarity with phonics teaching approaches (e.g., Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds, or similar).

*

Willingness to engage in professional development and contribute to whole-school initiatives
