We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and committed Autism Learning Support Assistant to join our vibrant special school. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive and dynamic team, where your work truly makes a difference.
About the Role: As an Autism Learning Support Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with special educational needs to achieve their full potential. Working within a vibrant and inclusive Primary school, you’ll provide tailored support to children and young people with Autism.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering Individualised Support: Work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning plans, ensuring that each student’s unique needs and abilities are supported.
- Creating a Stimulating Environment: Assist in creating a nurturing, engaging, and creative learning environment that inspires students to explore, learn, and grow.
- Encouraging Communication: Use communication aids such as Makaton and PECS to help students express themselves, while promoting their confidence and independence.
- Supporting Classroom Activities: Help facilitate lessons and activities that are both educational and enjoyable, adapting them as needed to ensure inclusivity for all students.
- Providing Personal Care: Offer compassionate support with daily care needs, including feeding, toileting, and mobility, to ensure the wellbeing and comfort of every child.
- Building Relationships: Develop strong and trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a collaborative and positive atmosphere within the school.
- Monitoring Progress: Observe and document student progress, sharing insights with teachers and therapists to continuously improve their learning experience.
