We are currently seeking a Principal Landscape Architect with strong design credentials to join and support the growth of our Landscape Architecture team, based in any of our major hub offices. As a member of one of the UK's largest and most diverse landscape practices, you will take a lead on a range of types and sizes of projects, including strategic planning, major infrastructure, urban regeneration and environmental enhancement schemes.

We will consider applicants with a wide range of experience but a proven track record in landscape design is preferable. This is an opportunity to join a team which is growing and with strong links across many disciplines. The landscape architecture discipline within our Buildings and Places business and numbers over 70 staff across the UK and Ireland. Our offices supports a range of sectors, such as healthcare, education and transportation, residential and mixed use, urban regeneration, green infrastructure, transportation, energy, flood alleviation, historic landscapes and neighbourhood planning. Major clients include the Homes England, the Environment Agency, National Highways, the University of Cambridge and the Imperial War Museum. The business comprises a group of specialists in architecture, interior design, specification writing and visualisations.

Job Responsibilities:
Applicants should be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of technical expertise in order to be able to carry out the following job/project accountabilities:
Direct project management responsibilities, including contractual, financial and programme management.
Establish strong working relationships with other members of the landscape team and internal teams across the business.
Develop and manage the work of others, including as a line manager and P2C mentor, as well as specialist sub consultants.
Secure and deliver new work by forming and maintaining good relationships with external clients.
Clear communication, including the ability to write concise technical reports and to lead conference calls, meetings and workshops.
Produce and/or oversee the production of reports, drawings and other technical documentation using appropriate software, with the necessary level of detail as required at various stages of development from strategies to mitigation design.
Have the technical ability, knowledge and competence to provide guidance to teach and develop junior staff.
Preparation of tenders for competitive projects
Ability to work collaboratively and iteratively within a multi-disciplinary design team.
Be aware of and understand the procedures, their importance and their application to projects.

Minimum Requirements
At least five years post Chartership experience.
Technically competent in preparing landscape design projects from feasibility through to implementation
Strong understanding of construction detailing
Fluency in English and ability to communicate effectively.
Experience in producing landscape assessment reports.
Experience of managing projects, including financial control and reporting and programme management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
The successful candidate will be competent in the use of AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud software.
Experience of some or all of the following would also be very useful: AutoCAD Civils 3D, Revit, NBS Chorus, LSS or ProjectWise.
Full UK driving licence.

Landscape Institute accredited Bachelor's degree, Diploma and/or Master's degree.
Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI)
