We are partnering with a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Harrogate to recruit a proactive and client-focused Accountant. Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of year-end accounts for a diverse range of clients (sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies).

• Production of corporation tax and personal tax returns.

• Managing and maintaining client relationships, acting as a first point of contact for queries.

• Supporting clients with cloud accounting queries (primarily Xero).

• Working collaboratively within a small, supportive team environment.

• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and practice procedures.

• Contributing to workflow improvements and supporting the ongoing growth of the practice.

Requirements Essential:

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment.

• Strong working knowledge of Xero.

• Demonstrable experience producing year-end accounts and tax returns.

• Excellent communication skills and confidence in a client-facing role.

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently within a small team.

Desirable:

• Experience using IRIS accountancy software.

• AAT-qualified, part-qualified ACCA/ACA, or qualified by experience.

• Knowledge of other cloud accounting platforms.
