Construction Management firm seeking Preconstruction Engineer:
The Preconstruction Engineer is responsible for assisting the Preconstruction Manager and Preconstruction Team on assigned construction projects. The position performs routine daily activities and gathers and distributes information to subcontractors, consultants, architects, and clients. Candidates must be flexible and adaptable team-players, and have strong communication and client service skills. Work will be performed both in office and on jobsite. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to:
§ Assist in estimating and take-offs of projects throughout design process
§ Maintain drawing log and update construction documents to most current set, including addenda
§ Manage bid list and contact information
§ Coordinate and assemble bid packages
§ Distribute project documents to subcontractors
§ Assist in developing subcontractor scopes of work
§ Solicit and coordinate price studies with subcontractors
§ Review and qualify subcontractor proposals to assure compliance with contract documents
§ Assist Team Managers with developing site specific logistics plans
§ Make site visits to understand construction process and familiarize self with various jobsites and jobsite conditions
- Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture related disciplines are preferred)
- Familiarity with Microsoft suite software, NewForma, Bluebeam, On-Screen Take-off, Google Sketch-up, AutoCAD, Revit
- Ability to read construction documents
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline driven work environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Desire to gain experience in construction engineering
Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in construction industry.
