Assistant Principal for Special Needs College (Permanent)

TeacherActive are recruiting for an Assistant Principal for a college in central Sheffield catering to young people aged 16-25 years with learning difficulties including autism spectrum disorders and complex behaviours. The college offers both day and residential provision.
Students benefit from a therapeutic and holisitic curriculum with a strong emphasis craft and land based lessons as well as practical skills.
As Assistant Principal you will report to the Principal to oversee that a high standard of education is delivered throughout college, you will also have responsibilities as Deputy Safeguarding Lead and may be required to provide phone support on evenings and weekends to the residential provision.
The right Assistant Principal will have the following:
Qualified Teacher Status with experience in leadership
Sound knowledge of Autism, SEND and Behaviour
A passion for teaching and learning
A professional understanding of safeguarding young people
Experience in managing staff
An open-minded and flexible approach to work
