Salary: £47000 - £50000/annum doe

First Task Professional are currently seeking a Site Manager with strong refurbishment experience to join a regional building contractor on a permanent basis in the Edinburgh area.

Our client have a strong reputation in the historic restoration and conservation sector and have worked on several prestigious listed and historic buildings and possess strong client relationships and pipelines of work throughout the Central Belt.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience working on either historic or listed buildings and be confident in managing both internal refurbishment and external fabric repair works.

Principal accountabilities of the role include:

• Manage the day to day running of the project and provide clear direction to those working on the construction site regarding their responsibilities and targets.
• Manage and implement health and safety procedures, working closely with Health and Safety Manager and ensure that that all aspects of health and safety are followed and adhered to.
• Motivate, support and manage directly employed site staff, providing toolbox talks, training, coaching, and support as required to improve performance.
• Ensure site presentation is maintained at the correct standard at all times.
• Ensure accurate progress reports are updated and sent to the Contracts Manager and/or Construction Director as requested.
• Ensure that adequate site records are maintained including but not limited to Site Managers reports, labour requirements, plant, materials, site inductions and health and safety records.

Experience:

• Experience of working as a Site Manager on similar refurbishment projects on historic or listed buildings
• Experience of effectively managing teams
• Up to date knowledge of health and safety and building legislation.

Qualifications and Training:

• Valid CSCS card at Site Manager level (or equivalent).
• Valid SMSTS certificate
• Valid First Aid certificate
• Valid Scaffold Appreciation certificate is desirable

Skills:

• Effective communication and listening skills
• Good administration skills
• Works effectively to deadlines and competently works on multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work on own as well as part of a team
• Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
