Assure Personnel Ltd are currently recruiting a Contracts Manager on behalf of our client, a leading building contractor. Due to continued rapid growth, they are seeking a motivated Contracts Manager to join their dynamic team.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Contracts Manager to take ownership of projects from inception through to final handover. This pivotal role involves overseeing multiple contracts, managing financial performance, ensuring client satisfaction, and leading site teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership:Oversee and manage the full project lifecycle, from tender handover and mobilisation to completion and client sign-off.
  • Commercial & Financial Acumen:Manage project profitability (P&L), monitor budgets, produce cost reports and forecasts, and track variations to maximise revenue.
  • Contract Negotiation & Compliance:Draft, review, and negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensure strict compliance with legal, regulatory, and company Health & Safety (H&S) policies.
  • Risk Management:Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard the organisation's interests and prevent delays.
  • Relationship Management:Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, building strong, lasting relationships and managing expectations throughout the project.
  • Operational Oversight:Plan works, organise labour and materials, conduct regular site visits, and mentor site teams to ensure high standards of work and safety.
  • Reporting & Administration:Produce detailed progress reports and maintain meticulous contractual records and documentation.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proven Experience:Significant experience (typically 3-5+ years) in a contracts or project management role within the construction industry, with a strong background in landscaping, fencing, or groundworks.
  • Industry Knowledge:Experience within the New Build Housing Construction Sector is highly advantageous.
  • Certifications:A valid CSCS card is essential. An SMSTS qualification is desirable.
  • Technical Skills:Excellent IT skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to interpret technical drawings and project plans.
  • Core Competencies:Strong leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and time management skills. A detail-oriented approach and excellent commercial awareness are crucial.
  • Logistics:A full UK driving licence is required for frequent site and client visits.
