Job Duties:

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support the emotional and behavioural needs of children within an educational setting. Your duties will include:

Assisting in the implementation of behaviour management strategies
Providing one-to-one support to pupils with challenging behaviours
Assisting with the development and implementation of individual behaviour plans
Supporting children in developing social skills and coping mechanisms
Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to create a positive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

A relevant qualification in Education, Psychology, or a related field
Experience working with children or young adults with behavioural difficulties
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure and de-escalate challenging situations

Education:

A degree or diploma in Education, Psychology, or a related field is required for this role.

Experience:

Previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting is essential.

Knowledge and Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess:

Knowledge of behaviour management strategies
Understanding of special educational needs and disabilities
Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

Any additional training or certifications in behaviour management or special education would be advantageous.

This role involves working in a school environment with children and young adults. The ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
