Communication Support WorkerAre you passionate about breaking down barriers to education? We are looking for a dedicated Communication Support Worker to join our Supported Learning team. In this vital role, you will empower d/Deaf and hearing-impaired learners by ensuring they have optimal access to their education, training, and college life.
The RoleAs a Communication Support Worker, you will work under the guidance of the Head of Learning Support to facilitate communication between students, staff, and peers. You will play a key part in ensuring high outcomes for students by providing technical, linguistic, and moral support across a variety of educational settings.
Key Responsibilities:
In-Class Support: Facilitate access using BSL/SSE, note-taking, lip speaking, and language modification.
Collaboration: Advise teaching staff on modifying learning materials and environments to meet student needs.
- Resource Preparation: Adapt curriculum language, transcribe videos, and prepare specialized learning materials.
- Technical Assistance: Help students utilize technical aids like radio aids and minicoms.
- Beyond the Classroom: Support learners during exams, college trips, and residential visits.

Essential Requirements:
What We OfferSalary: £25,192 - £27,152 per annum (pro-rated).
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only.
