Job Title: General Operative
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 8 weeks initially
Location: Millerhill (EH21)
Salary: £12.21 per hour
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Are you a hardworking and dependable person who takes pride in doing a job well? We're looking for a General Operative to join our team. If you've got a good attitude, a strong work ethic, and an eye for detail, we'd like to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out general housekeeping tasks across the site, including litter picking
• Direct trucks safely onto site and guide drivers where required
• Operate jet washing equipment to clean machinery, floors, vehicles, and working areas
• Ensure all areas of the site are kept clean, tidy, and free from hazards
• Assist with the movement and handling of waste materials as required
• Support daily operations by completing any general tasks assigned by the Site Manager
• Report any issues or hazards to the management team promptly
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times
Key Skills:
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to completing tasks
• Able to keep the site clean and spot potential issues
• Comfortable with manual work and being on your feet
• Able to work well with others and support the wider team
• Willing to take on tasks and solve basic problems without being asked
• Open to taking on a variety of duties as required by the manager
• Able to follow instructions and report issues clearly
