CMM Inspector – Night Shift | Precision Engineering | Wolverhampton
We’re working with a leading precision engineering business that supplies into high-performance sectors including Motorsport, Automotive, and Defence. They’re currently looking for an experienced CMM Inspector to join their night shift team at their Wolverhampton facility.

About the Role This is a key quality assurance role within a fast-paced precision machining environment. You’ll be responsible for inspecting complex components using CMMs (Aberlink software) and a range of manual measuring tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GD&T, be confident generating inspection reports, and capable of working closely with engineering teams to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities - Perform dimensional and visual inspection of machined components using CMMs and manual tools (verniers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Program and operate CMM equipment using Aberlink software.
- Interpret technical drawings and geometric tolerances.
- Work with a variety of materials including aluminium, steel, castings, and more.
- Generate and maintain inspection documentation including ISIRs, FAIRs, and Certificates of Conformity.
- Identify and report non-conformances, raising concessions where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and customer requirements.
What We’re Looking For Essential:
- Proven experience in CMM inspection within a precision engineering environment.
- Proficiency with Aberlink software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Skilled in using manual inspection tools.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Desirable:
- Experience generating CMM programs.
- Familiarity with FAIRs and ISIRs.
- Manual handling and lifting equipment training (can be provided if needed).
