An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Accountant to join a 3rd sector organisation as a Finance Business Partner on an 2 year interim contract. Reporting into the Head of Finance, the roles primary focus will be the provision of the capital accounting function.

Delivering an outstanding service to internal stakeholders, the main responsibilities of this role will include

Group capital accounting, reporting and forecasting, continually reviewing, evaluating and recommending improvements to existing accounting processes
Review of actual v budget expenditure providing all stakeholders with concise variance commentary
Ensuring the development and maintenance of the consolidated 5 year rolling capital plan, incorporating all categories of asset, highlighting rolling replacements and producing capital plans for over-arching strategic projects (to incorporate analysis of lease vs buy decisions) and linking to the 5-year rolling maintenance schedule, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy
Providing financial and tax based insight, advice, guidance and reporting as Chair of the Capital Strategy and Planning Group
Oversee major IT expenditure, including business cases and reporting
Providing Finance BP support to Operational Managers, and assigned steering groupsThe successful candidate will be a fully qualified member of a recognised professional accounting institute (ICAEW, ICAS, CIMA, ACCA), and be able to demonstrate the following skills , experience and attributes

Extensive post-qualification experience in a capital accounting role, to include long-term budgeting and forecasting and knowledge of capital statutory accounting
Able to demonstrate competent experience in the analysis, interpretation and reporting of high volumes of complex financial data
Extensive experience in the preparation and analysis of business cases, including long-term P&L and cash flow analysis and scenario planning and post-project reviews
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to flex and adapt communication to suit a wide range of audiences
Documented CPD track record throughout post qualification period
Experience of working in a computerised accounting system
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications, particularly Excel including demonstrable working knowledge of dealing with high volumes of complex data and power queries
