We currently have multiple opportunities in Milton Keynes to join us as a Senior Merchandiser in areas such as Furniture and Technology.
As a Senior Merchandiser you will control and manage the planning and budgeting process, helping to achieve sales budgets, managing stock levels, planning the range and working with some of our key suppliers.
Not only will you act as a coach and leader by managing, motivating and developing the Merchandising team, you will also work closely with buying counterparts to ensure that the category strategy is achieved.

What will the role of Senior Merchandiser involve?
Create and implement a customer driven strategic vision for their ranges in line with the category strategy
Ensure agreed levels of good, better and best products are bought in line with the department strategy
Working closely with the Senior Buyer, develop and implement joint business plans with suppliers in line with department strategy
To liaise with global suppliers and sourcing offices to identify the most cost-effective sourcing routes, and work closely with overseas teams
Ensure on-time range launches through delivery of merchandising milestones ensuring any issues relating to the delivery of the review are resolved through liaising with suppliers and stakeholders
To work with the Senior Buyer in the creation of the seasonal plan and strategy for sales, stock, margin, waste and markdown within agreed parameters to ensure departmental KPI's are achieved
Work with the buying team to review weekly trading performance on KPIs and to identify any issues and opportunities to respond to weekly trading conditions
To work in partnership with Senior Buyers to develop financial plans and budgets, and develop accurate forecasts to help run the business effectively
Manage and drive customer availability in all channels
Work cross functionally with operational teams to drive efficiency
Ensure that forecasted demand represents a true forward view of customer requirement and liaise with Demand Forecasting team to work through Catalogue forecasting plans and identify any changes to plan when in flight
Establishing effective relationships is key with any role, but as a Senior Merchandiser you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Merchandising Manager and Head of Department to ensure the delivery of the category plans. You won't be on your own as you will have your own team of Merchandisers, Assistant Merchandisers and Merchandise Admin Assistants to support you along with access to several other teams including Business Planning, Replenishment and Trading Support to name just a few. We truly work as a team here to deliver for our customers.
What I need to know:
Proven track record & recent comparable experience in a merchandising role including Omni-channel experience
Excellent technical knowledge and experience of merchandising & replenishment systems
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving dynamic retail environment
Confidence to influence and engage at all levels
Product, Market knowledge & Customer focus
Strong commercial, analytical, problem solving & presentation skills
Excellent knowledge and experience of replenishment systems
