About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Secondary English Teacher to join our inclusive and supportive team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to students with a range of special educational needs, helping them to achieve their potential both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan and deliver creative and accessible English lessons tailored to students with SEN.

* Develop individual education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO and support staff.

* Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to meet diverse learning needs.

* Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.

* Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.

* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external agencies.

* Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and whole-school development initiatives.

Requirements:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

* Experience teaching English at the secondary level, ideally in an SEN or inclusive setting.

* Strong understanding of various special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties.

* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

* Commitment to inclusive education and differentiated teaching.

Desirable:

* SEN-specific qualifications or training (e.g., NASENCo, TEACCH, Makaton).

* Experience with assistive technology or alternative communication methods.
