Senior Assistant Accountant | Portishead | 34-41k | Permanent

About the Role

We are partnering with a fast-growing commercial vehicle business to recruit a Senior Assistant Accountant for their friendly, busy finance team. This permanent role offers full accounting exposure, month-end ownership, and the chance to make a real impact in a lively, collaborative SME environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Full ownership of month-end including journals, reconciliations, prepayments, accruals and P&L production
• Posting invoices, processing purchase invoices, payment runs and overseeing transactional finance
• Credit control and supplier liaison
• Balance sheet management and general ledger reconciliations
• VAT returns and audit preparation support
• Cashflow forecasting and commercial reporting
• Sales and margin analysis
• Partnering with internal teams to provide clear, meaningful financial insight
• Supporting and guiding junior finance team members

What We’re Looking For

• At least 12 months’ management accounts experience
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to complete all accounting tasks
• Good Excel skills (intermediate level)
• A great attitude, flexibility and ability to thrive in a lively, fast-paced office
• AAT studying or qualified desirable
• Confident communicator with internal and external stakeholders

• Pill – free onsite parking
• Office-based
• 37.5 hours per week
