Hyde is looking to recruit a Community Caretaker

As a Community Caretaker at Hyde, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment across our residential blocks and community assets in Islington. You’ll be customer-facing, proactive, and hands-on in supporting day-to-day estate services and basic maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
• Regularly inspect communal areas and report or address maintenance issues
• Carry out basic repairs (e.g. bulb changes, tightening loose fittings, and securing communal signage or fixtures)
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in stairwells, corridors, lobbies, and outdoor areas
• Manage waste disposal and ensure bin stores and recycling areas are clean and compliant
• Replenish cleaning supplies and monitor stock levels
• Respond to resident queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
• Support a safe and secure environment in line with health and safety regulations
Skills and Experience Required
• Previous caretaking, maintenance or facilities experience in a residential or community setting is desirable but not essential
• Strong customer service skills
• Basic understanding of general maintenance tasks
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks
• Clear communication skills and a professional manner
• Understanding of health and safety regulations
• Flexible and reliable with the ability to work occasional evenings or weekends
