We are seeking a Curriculum Team Leader for Science, ideally specialising in Chemistry or Physics, to join our clients educational institution in Essex. This role is crucial for leading and enhancing the delivery of our science curriculum to students aged 16-18. The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher with a strong background in science education and some management experience.
Day-to-day of the role:- Lead the science teaching team, ensuring high-quality delivery of the curriculum.
- Teach for 23 hours per week, with an additional 13 hours dedicated to non-teaching responsibilities including planning, administration, and team management.
- Develop and implement strategies to meet awarding body requirements and maintain quality assurance standards.
- Manage classroom environments effectively, employing advanced teaching, learning, and assessment (TLA) techniques.
- Engage in and promote continuous professional development for self and team.
- Work collaboratively with other department leaders to enhance overall educational offerings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:- Must be a qualified teacher with one of the following: PGCE, QTS, or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.
- Degree in a Science subject, preferably Chemistry or Physics.
- Proven experience teaching in a 16-18 setting (BTEC, A Level, etc.).
- Strong understanding of awarding body requirements and quality assurance processes.
- Effective classroom management skills and proficiency in TLA.
- Demonstrable commitment to professional development.
- Preferably some management experience in an educational setting.
