Haywards Heath Full-Time / Term Time

We are currently recruiting for a SEN Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil with ASD in a school based in Haywards Heath.

The child has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and requires dedicated support to help them access learning and feel comfortable within the classroom environment.

As a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Provide individual support to a pupil with Autism (ASD)

• Help the pupil engage with classroom activities and learning

• Support the child's social, emotional, and communication needs

• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO

• Help maintain a structured and supportive learning environment

• Experience working with children with SEN, particularly Autism (ASD) is desirable

• Patient, calm, and supportive approach

• Strong communication and behaviour management skills

• Passion for supporting children with additional needs

• Previous SEN Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant experience

• Background in education, care, psychology, or youth work

• Qualifications such as:

  • CACHE Level 2 or Level 3

  • NCFE Supporting Teaching and Learning

  • Other education or childcare-related courses
