Here at Blueprint Recruitment, we are looking for an experienced Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy, on a contract basis. As the successful candidate you will be required work on a hybrid basis, from the client's Basingstoke office, 2-3 days a week. Within this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of constructure, infrastructure, and property development projects, as a valued member of a dynamic team of engineers and professionals.

-Competitive day rate of £400 (depending on experience)

-Hybrid working arrangement (2-3 days on-site)

Responsibilities:

-Produce concise electrical system designs focusing on project layouts, schematics, plant schedules, performance calculations, and specifications.

-Ensure all designs follow current regulations, standards, and building codes, and keep reports and documents up-to-date and accurate.

-Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients to ensure the project is progressing efficiently and effectively.

-Assist in the construction phase by looking at contractor submissions, settling design queries and attending site visits and inspections.

-Find and implement cost and energy solutions, to make the project more efficient, whilst taking lighting, power usage, energy conservation, and control systems into consideration.

-Design and technical review, problem-solving, and overseeing responsibilities like design management, combined with opportunities for hands-on design work.

Requirements:

-Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or a similar field.

-Prior experience working on moderate to large-scale electrical building services projects, with a focus on power, controls, lighting, and distribution.

-Proficient understanding of design and modelling tools, including AutoCAD, BIM, and Revit.

-Solid grasp of current electrical and safety standards, regulations, and commissioning processes.

-Time management, organisation, and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail, with the ability to work with project changes and constraints
