Our client are a well established (over 40 years) UK Transport, Haulage and Pallet Distribution business based in Wakefield , West YorkshireDue to gowth they are recruiting for a General Haulage Transport Planner to work as part of small close team within a growing family business.The role will be working alongside the transport manager with a focus on next day to 3 day planning for a fleet of 20 wagons including a large number of tramper drivers.Daily interaction with customers via email and telephone for live bookings and pricing negotiation are a key part of the role so customer service skills are essential. The role will also involve some compliance duties with a CPC qualification desirable but not essential. Geographic knowledge of the UK and it's road networks along with an ability to price loads accordingly is highly desirable.30-35,000 base salary depending on experience,28 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays)Peoples PensionAround 8.5 hours per day, start and finish time depending on operation but from 6am - 6pmExperience and qualification will dictate the salary.
