Property Risk and PPM Officer

We are seeking a Property Risk and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Officer to support the effective management of property-related risks and ensure compliance with property safety legislation. This role is crucial in managing statutory compliance across various safety areas including gas, electrical, fire, asbestos, mechanical, and water safety.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Facilitate third-party contractors to deliver on statutory planned maintenance and associated remedial works.
- Manage risk assessment programmes and associated remedial works, supporting with access arrangements and informing council colleagues of upcoming compliance activities.
- Support the management of statutory compliance of all property assets, focusing on gas, electrical, fire, asbestos, mechanical, and water safety to ensure full compliance.
- Assist in the mitigation and control of all property risk requirements across the council portfolio.
- Provide information to maintain the Property Service Risk Register, ensuring it reflects all property-related risks and associated actions effectively.
- Collate and provide information to the council’s Insurance Manager to ensure all property risk mitigations are in place for maintaining compliance with insurance requirements.
- Work collaboratively with property colleagues, additional works and capital teams, and third-party contractors to ensure that any refurbishment works are statutory compliant.
- Provide continuous support and education to colleagues across the council to ensure compliance with statutory duties related to property safety matters.
- Support the delivery of a property risk management audit programme to monitor and report on the effectiveness of the property services compliance with relevant legislation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Evidence of continued professional development in a relevant field.
- Strong understanding of property risk legislation, particularly in public sector settings.
- Experience managing property risk and planned preventative maintenance in complex, multi-use portfolios.
- Proficiency in using Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) systems, particularly for compliance tracking and documentation.
