Overview
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Team Lead to manage and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team within a regulated infrastructure environment.

This role combines technical leadership, team development, and project delivery responsibility across long-term water and utilities programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Manage, mentor, and develop engineers, technicians, and graduates
Build team capability and foster a strong, positive working culture
Lead design delivery across multidisciplinary infrastructure projects
Improve and embed engineering design processes and best practice
Support and drive use of digital engineering tools, including BIM and 3D modelling
Ensure delivery of high-quality, compliant, and integrated design outputs
Manage workload planning, programme delivery, budgets, and resources
Oversee compliance with engineering standards, tools, and procedures
Manage design changes and ensure accurate documentation control
Support estimation and planning of engineering design activities
Requirements

Strong background in engineering design within regulated infrastructure sectors
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
Track record of mentoring and developing engineering staff
Experience within water, utilities, or similar regulated environments
Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership
Strong leadership, technical, and problem-solving skills
Experience working within structured design and delivery processes
Degree, HND, or equivalent engineering qualification
Full UK driving licence preferred
