Academics are currently recruiting for a dedicated School Support Worker/SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic specialist school in Luton. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs, including SEMH, Autism, and ADHD, within a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting vulnerable learners and making a real difference in their education and wellbeing. It is also an excellent opportunity for Psychology graduates or those considering careers in education and training, clinical psychology, counselling, social work, or youth justice.

The Role - SEN Teaching Assistant - School Support Worker

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students both 1:1 and within the classroom, helping them to engage with learning and develop essential social and emotional skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with SEMH, Autism, and ADHD
  • Providing 1:1 support and small group assistance
  • Assisting teachers with individual learning and behaviour support plans
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Helping students build confidence and independence
