We are recruiting for the following position(s):
Part-time position available for either a DA II or a DA III for our dental clinic in Port Angeles. This position is for Mondays and Saturdays only. The DA will be assisting the dental provider in the delivery of dental procedures allowed by the WA State Dental Practice Act. Other responsibilities are as follows: assist provider in Restorative, Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery procedures, and any other procedures allowed by the WA Dental Practice Act.
As a Dental Assistant II, applicant must have completed a formal Dental Assistant program at a College, Technical Institute or equivalent. Must have a minimum of 6 months of work experience. Others with no formal training must have a minimum of 18 months of work experience in a Dental Assistant position.
As a Dental Assistant III applicant must be knowledgeable of the proper sterilization methods and OSHA regulations including Quality Improvement. Must be able to duplicate and mount radiographs, place temporary restorations, take impressions, pour and trim models, place retraction cord, place matrix bands, perform coronal polish and give fluoride treatments. Duties include maintaining proper records for material safety data sheets (MSDS), spore test, inventory of dental supplies, assist in training new Dental Assistants and organize schedules to generate check lists for maintenance of dental procedures. Must have a minimum of 2 years working experience. Employees with no formal training must have a minimum of 3 years of experience working in a Dental Assistant position.
Requirements and/or Qualifications:
- Valid WA state license, basic life support (BLS) certification, organizational skills, dental record experience and familiarity with the utilization of computers.
- Must have exceptional customer service skills for this position.
- Must be able to communicate, read and write in English and have the ability to interpret common written material about dentistry.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred but not required for this position.
