HGV Workshop Supervisor - Astley (Manchester)

Careermakers Recruitment are currently recruiting for a qualified HGV Workshop Supervisor on behalf of our client based in Astley. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established operation on a full-time, permanent basis.

Salary:
£40,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Working Hours:

* Monday to Friday

* 40-50 hours per week (to be confirmed at interview)

* Weekend work as required

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage the day-to-day running of the workshop

* Supervise staff, including rotas, performance, and attendance

* Carry out hands-on repairs and maintenance as required

* Ensure all work is completed correctly and within deadlines

* Maintain accurate records and complete all necessary paperwork

* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and good housekeeping

* Communicate effectively with the Transport Manager

* Ensure correct use of PPE at all times

Skills & Experience Required:

* Previous experience as an HGV Technician or Workshop Supervisor

* Strong fault diagnosis and repair skills

* Experience with VOSA inspections and MOT preparation

* Ability to strip, fit, and replace components

* Good communication and organisational skills

* Self-motivated with a proactive approach

* Experience with Scania and Volvo vehicles preferred

* Class 1 or Class 2 licence preferred (not essential)

* C+E entitlement desirable
