Mechanical Designer III

Salary: £40k - £50k

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to join a global leader in engineering design and manufacturing solutions. You will work independently on complex projects, conduct document checks, and contribute to the development of mechanical systems across piping, structural, conveyance, and process manufacturing disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

* Produce accurate design documents using AutoCAD, Inventor, and/or SolidWorks in line with company standards.

* Interpret engineer's notes, sketches, and verbal directions to create complex designs.

* Reference past project documentation to ensure efficiency and consistency.

* Maintain drawing files, prepare bid documents, and operate standard office equipment.

* Conduct document checks for less complex designs created by other team members.

* Visit fabrication facilities and project sites as needed for coordination, tagging, and shipping of materials.

* Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety standards.

What We're Looking For:

* Education: Associate's degree in Computer-Aided Drafting (required).

* Experience: Minimum 5 years' drafting/design experience in mechanical engineering environments.

* Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (required).

* Knowledge of 3D design using AutoCAD Inventor and/or SolidWorks (preferred).

* Familiarity with piping, structural, conveyance, and process manufacturing equipment (preferred).

* Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience.

* Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines.

Travel & Work Environment

* Domestic and occasional international travel (0-10% per year).

* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

* Work may occasionally involve exposure to dust, fumes, noise, and varying weather conditions during site visits.
