About S
S is a bright, humorous young person who enjoys banter, being out and about, and living life to the fullest. S has Laurence Moon Bardet Biedl Syndrome, a rare genetic condition affecting their vision, balance, coordination, and learning. They have significantly impaired vision, so your support will be vital in helping them navigate the community safely and confidently.
During term time we support S to attend Westgate College three days a week and blind football on Wednesday evenings. On other days and during college holidays, S likes to choose what they’ll do on the day and staff need to be flexible and ready to go with their flow!
S is:
- Thoughtful, polite, and well-mannered
- Easy-going with a fantastic sense of humour
- Honest and direct – they’ll tell it like it is!
- A social person who enjoys chatting and joking with support staff and their friends
Experience supporting people with sensory impairments or learning disabilities is welcome but not essential – the right attitude and a genuine passion for person-centred care is what matters most.
If you’re a caring, confident, and reliable person looking for a rewarding role, we’d love to hear from you!
