About the Role
A permanent opportunity has arisen for a qualified Electrician to join a dedicated Estates team. You will be responsible for maintenance, compliance, repair and safe operation of all electrical systems across the campus, supporting both daily operations and long-term improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Routine inspection of electrical systems, wiring, fixtures and appliances
- Maintain, repair and replace lighting, heating/ventilation controls, lamps/LEDs, sports lighting and car park systems
- Ensure compliance with regulations, safety procedures and Health & Safety legislation
- Respond to emergency, urgent and routine reactive work
- Diagnose electrical faults and complete repairs efficiently
- Install new electrical appliances and repair existing ones
- Support building upgrades, improvement projects and meter readings
- Assist Estates/Works colleagues with general maintenance tasks
- Undertake manual duties including lifting, moving materials, painting, carpentry and seasonal grounds work
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (#removed#)
- Experience in installation, testing, maintenance and repair
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices
- Physically capable of manual handling tasks
- Full UK driving licence and transport
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Additional trade skills – carpentry, painting, plumbing
