The Firm

An established and reputable law firm in Chester is seeking a motivated Debt Recovery Paralegal to join their growing litigation team. The firm has a strong client base across commercial and private sectors and is known for delivering practical and effective legal solutions.

The Role

You will play a key role in supporting the firm’s debt recovery operations, managing your own caseload of pre-legal and litigated debt matters. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career in litigation with exposure to complex debt recovery matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a caseload of debt recovery matters from instruction through to resolution.

  • Drafting legal correspondence, including letters before action and court documents.

  • Issuing claims through the County Court Money Claims Centre (CCMCC).

  • Liaising with clients, third parties, and internal teams to progress cases efficiently.

  • Preparing bundles for court hearings.

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and court procedures.

  • Using case management systems to update case progress and maintain accurate records.

Requirements
  • Previous experience in debt recovery or litigation is essential.

  • Law degree or equivalent legal qualification is desirable.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a busy caseload.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
