If you are looking to work on a 4 day per week basis, on a permanent twilight shift, this could be the career move for you. Hours of work Monday to Thursday, 15.00 to 01.30 (3.00pm to 1.30am). Join this global, high-performing precision engineering team based in Hertfordshire. Working in an industrious, modern manufacturing environment, producing complex, batch components for leading aerospace clients. Collaborating closely with CNC Tooling, Milling and Turning operations, your role will be pivotal in exceeding customer expectations across safety, quality, and delivery of high-quality products.

Core Responsibilities

Precision Machining

* Operate CNC turning machines and related equipment to produce components to tight tolerances: typically, ±0.001" (0.025mm), occasionally ±0.0005" (0.0125mm)

* Set and adjust two-axis CNC lathes, solve problems independently, and maintain machining consistency

Process Development & Collaboration

* Work on repeat and new product introduction (NPI) jobs with Planning, Quality, and Engineering to develop robust manufacturing methods

* Record accurate job timings and progress using the ERP system

Shop Floor Excellence

* Champion 5S standards to ensure a clean, safe working environment

* Engage in Kaizen events to identify and implement process improvements, from micro tweaks to full re-engineering

Technical Capability

* Read and interpret basic CNC coding

* Contribute to manufacturing strategy with tooling and method suggestions

Required Skills & Experience

* High precision experience in a similar engineering environment

* Skilled in CNC turning using Takisawa machines with Fanuc controls

* Comfortable working with diverse materials including Stainless Steel, Nylon, Titanium, Inconel, and Aluminium

* Qualified via apprenticeship/education or extensive hands-on manufacturing experience
