Charlton Morris are representing a Global Energy company to recruit for a Head of Project Management. The Head Office is based in the Midlands (with possibility of flexible working and occasional travel).

The Head of Project Management has the purpose to design and build industrial plants within the frame of Group standards and rules, under the supervision of the company.

You will deliver assigned projects on time and within budget, ensuring a safe and reliable handover to the Operations team. You will manage to Project team daily and set a high standard of project management practices. Your main responsibilities will be:

* Motivating, coaching and guiding the Project team.

* Assigning objectives and following up with each team member on the development plan.

* Promoting company safety culture and basics within the Project team.

You will also design, select and purchase all of the engineering, equipment and site works that are necessary to execute the assigned projects within the Local Regulatory framework, ensuring compliance with local regulations and signing relevant documentation when required within the regulatory framework.

You will also regularly report back on the status of the project, budgeting and scheduling deviations and actions plans. You will manage the projects portfolio, liaising with developers on a regular basis to ensure correct anticipation of staffing and workload. You will also be responsible for developing long-term relationships with engineering companies and suppliers as well as ensuring a high level of standard and quality assurance. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical content of each contract and in charge of the handover process of each project to the Operations department, however construction sites will remain in your perimeter of responsibility until commissioning, permission to operate and relevant plant operation documentation has been delivered.

For this opportunity, you must have a degree within Engineering, experience of project management and people management. A background in chemical/mechanical engineering is an advantage. Candidates with project management experience in fields such as IT will not be considered.
